I specialise in finding rare, forgotten and hard-to-discover videos online — particularly footage that many people may never have seen before.

Over the past few years, I’ve found hundreds of videos featuring circus and variety performers from around the world. Some of the most fascinating footage online can be surprisingly difficult to find, particularly when there is very little information available or when titles and descriptions are written in foreign languages.

Using tools such as Google Translate, old newspaper archives and other research sources, I enjoy digging deeper to discover more about performers, productions and the stories behind the footage. I also write articles to share the interesting discoveries and connections I make along the way.

Discoveries That Make a Difference

Some of my most rewarding discoveries have had a profound impact on people’s lives.
I helped an 84-year-old man uncover the true identity of his biological father by finding a 1937 Pathé film featuring an Icarian act performed by members of the Karpi Troupe.
I also discovered a 1940 Pathé film of a couple performing a rola-bola balancing and musical act, which I shared with their elderly son in America, a former daredevil and circus performer. He, his sister and other family members were able to see their parents performing the act for the first time ever.

I’ve also helped circus and variety performers track down footage of their appearances in television programmes and films, sharing my discoveries with them and through this website. I’ve uncovered footage of jugglers and other artists who have long been forgotten, as well as performers believed to have appeared in lost or undocumented footage.

It’s also been encouraging to see my research recognised by other writers in the juggling world. For example:

I see myself as a curator and researcher rather than a creator. My channel is not monetised. 

Find Me A Video is a free service, and I don’t monetise the videos I share. However, finding rare footage and researching the performers and stories behind it can take a considerable amount of time. Not every article on this website has a video attached — yet. Some are about performers, productions or stories that I have researched, and I’m always hopeful that footage will eventually be discovered.
