Boris Amarantov: Soviet Actor, Director and Juggler 1960s

Okay folks, so here's a rare gem! I say that because I'm delving into the rabbit hole of juggling and variety acts from around the world, using Google translate. There are loads of videos on YouTube alone which are listed in foreign languages, making them difficult/impossible to find using English. I first found these videos in February 2022 and shared my finds to the online juggling community. Since then, these videos have been been reshared to several other YouTube channels and websites, plus some articles have been published about his life. Although some Russian people may have already known about him, it was my research that resulted in the renewed current interest into his life.

Here's Boris Amarantov in a short film, Evening in Moscow. Enjoy!

Here's another great video of him that I know many of you will like. It's taken from a TV programme called, “Good Evening, Neighbour” (1968) and features his pantomime, “Ke-la-la”, performed to the song, Chella (“This girl” performed by Italian singer Renato Carosone).

It's very playful and he does tricks with one ball, an umbrella, a small suitcase and a hat. Enjoy!
