Here’s a performer you’ve probably never heard of.
Enoch Brocklehurst was born in 1890 in the Derbyshire town of Ilkeston, England, UK. Very little is known about him other than he performed at clubs and theatres throughout the UK right up to when he died aged 80. In 1969, a year before he died, he noted that his act was, “Booked, Re-booked and Recommended” and “always kept fresh by addition of clever and original material.” Brock was billed as having many skills: juggler; equilibrist; sword swallower; sword juggler and balancer; knife spinner; user of illuminated clubs. On his publicity, BROCK stood for: Breathtaking. Remarkable. Original. Complete. Knife-edge. EQUILIBRIST.
Although I don’t believe that Brock appeared on any TV shows, he may well have been in productions that were filmed.
